Progotir Pathey 2009: Key findings of the Bangladesh Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey: Preliminary Report

The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) 2009, known as Progotir Pathey, is a UNICEF-developed household survey which fills data gaps for monitoring human development, particularly regarding the situation of children and women. With technical support from UNICEF, Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics conducted the 2009 survey among 300,000 households. The 2009 MICS used a much larger sample size than previous MICS, and is the first time that data has been collected at upazila (sub-district) level. It is the only multi-sectoral household survey providing disaggregated data on a large number of socio-economic indicators.
