The Hotel and Restaurant Survey is one of the five components of the Annual Establishment and institution Survey (AEIS). The latest (Sixth Series) AEIS was conducted during FY 2002-03. For the first time BBS conducted separately the Hotel and Restaurant survey during 2009-10. ln the AEIS economic. Activities, establishments and institutions related to small scale manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, hotel and restaurant and other services. Household based informal activities were grouped into household manufacturing and services. For compilation of accurate GDP compilation the reliable benchmark data of all the fifteen sectors is necessary. So, BBS has taken decision to conduct nationwide survey for all the non-farm economic sectors separately in phase.
