Sultana Nahar

Sultana Nahar started her literary career by composing poems in English. Later on she also started writing poems in Bengali. But after publication of her book on communalism her writing on this issue remains unabated. Among her publications following are worth mentioning: Forbidden Truth; Selected Poems of Sultana Nahar; That I am Alive; Story of liberation war of Aninul and Umed Ali; Sabitree, name of a Hindu Girl. Her articles on topical issues have been published in all leading English and Bengali dailies of Bangladesh including Dhaka Law Report (DLR) Sultana Nahar's English poems have been published by Jawharlal Nehru University, Delhi, India and she received Golden Poet Award from USA, in 1989. She was born in 1948, 19th July at Dhaka. Apart from her literary achievement she practices law in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, a keen tennis player and pursues classical music and kirton.
