Abdul Baqee

Abdul Baqee has been a faculty member in the Department of Geography and environment at the University of Dhaka for the last 20 years. He has carried out research on the different dimensions of rural life in Bangladesh and has published more than forty papers in leading journals at home and abroad. He is also the author of a book on rural settlements. His research pursuits have taken him to the remote areas of Bangladesh and helped him delve deep into the lives and livelihoods of rural folk, especially of those who live in such frontier settlements as the ‘chars’ and coastal regions.
