Roxana Hoque

Dr. Roxana Hoque received her M.A. in History from the Chittagong University (CU). She received her M.S. from the Laboratory of Geographic information system (GIS), the department of Geography, Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU) Japan. In 2011, she achieved her Ph.D. from the Laboratory of Climatology, the department of Geography, Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU) Japan.Thereafter she worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher at TMU and at present she is a visiting researcher at TMU. In 2012, she joins as a research scientist at the Japan Agency for Marine-Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) Japan.

In this book, part of her research work focuses climatological characteristics of monsoon seasonal transitions associated with the atmospheric circulation around Bangladesh. The results demonstrated dramatic atmospheric circulation changes have occurred during the monsoon season, in the monsoon onset and withdrawal period. Part of her research work focuses on the real time flood monitoring, mapping and assessing using the LANDSAT, RADARSAT, GIS and ground data around the north eastern Bangladesh. Based on her research work she has total of 11 publications.

She was a teacher at the Pre-Cadet Talent K.G School in Chittagong. She also worked at Ota Engineering and design L.T.D in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
