Integrated Study on Sustainable Argiculture and Rural Development towards Research and Education in Myanmar and Surrounding Countries

This book has been edited as the documentation of the proceeding of the International Workshop namely "Integrated Study on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development towards Research and Education" on 15-16 January,2011, at Yezin Agricultural University. The book has been designated to share the findings of the field study research among the researchers in Myanmar and the surrounding countries particularly in relation to the information on existing farming systems in the dry zone areas of Myanmar and the experiences of Bangladesh, Laos and Assam in India. This documentation will also function as a base line study for the development of sustainable agricultural production technology and reference material for study and education in the higher research and educational organizations. As shown in the contents of the book, the key note speech "Let us share experiences internationally and learn each other for sustainable development" and the 16 papers appear on the basis of the agronomic experiments and the field works. This book is the No.2 volume of Practice-Oriented Area Studies Series, which aim the alternative Area Studies to establish the consciousness of "ZAICHI(locally existing)" in the researchers' mind and and attitude by their living areas. The Practice-oriented Area Studies Series are to Publish the research outcome on the basis of these researchers' consciousness.
