Ahamedul Karim Chowdhury obtained Master in Social Science from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, Master in Shipping and Transport with distinction 'cum laude' from the Netherlands Maritime University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He has been working in Chittagong Port Authority since 1997 and presently he is responsible for landside cargo operations management, intermodal operations and container handling activities there. He began his career in 1992 with OOCL, an International Shipping Line and worked there for five years in mid-level management position. He has also successfully completed a group training course titled "Container Terminal Development" in Yokohama, Japan in 2002-2003 arranged by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and obtained Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) with distinction in "Port, Shipping and Transport Management" from International Maritime Transport Academy (IMTA), Rotterdam in 2005-2006. He studied and participated in different courses and training programs in Japan, The Netherlands, South Korea and Vietnam. His research focus is on issues related with port, shipping, logistics, transport, maritime cluster and international trade.
