Born in Shibnagar of ChanpainaWabga district in 1955, poet Shahabuddin Nagari received education at the Chittagong University among others. He started his career as a lecturer in Zoology at the same University but ultimately settled for the Bangladesh Civil Service. As a writer Nagari is versatile and of many dimensions But his forte is poetry Poets of the Seventies of the last century have for themselves carved out a place : Bangladesh’s literary firmament Among them Shahabuddin Nagari has steadily but surely created a niche for himself that has put him in a unique place. His every new poem is different from the one that it precedes. His debut collection of poems Ek muthotey dukkho amar ek muthotey prem (I hold pains in one grip and Love in the other), Published in 1995, was distinctive in many ways. So far he has Published 14 volumes of poetry to his credit.
