Sheikh Md Monirul Islam

Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam, ndc, psc is currently the Director General of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BlISS), Dhaka. He served in various command, staff and  instructional appointments in the Bangladesh Army. These included Command of an Infantry Division and an Infantry Brigade, Director General of Special Security Force (SSF) and National Security Intelligence (NSI). He was Directing Staff and Senior Instructor at Defence Services  Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.  He also served as the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. He participated in the UN Peace Keeping Operation and attended several international conferences. General Monir also has a number of publications on Defence Studies to his credit.
