Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics has been conducting Labour Force Surveys (LFS) since 1980 and it is one of the core statistical activities in the country. The Survey data is extensively used by the government, researchers and other stakeholders at large. Detailed information on labour force, employment, unemployment, underemployment, sector, occupation, and hours worked characteristics has been collected from representative sample of 36, 242 households to produce gender disaggregated national and division level estimates with urban/rural/city corporation breakdown. The estimates are profiled according to latest statistical classifications viz. Bangladesh Standard Industrial Classification (BSIC) and Bangladesh Standard Classification of Occupations (BSCO).
