Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) has prepared the first version of the Compendium of Environment Statistics in 1997. lt used the guidelines mentioned in UN-FDES (United Nations Framework for Development of Environment Statistics) during preparation of the compendium. The second version of the compendium was published in 2004. The Compendium of Environment Statistics 2005 is, in fact, an updated version of Compendium 2004. This times the development of the Compendium of Environment Statistics of Bangladesh' 2009 is a full scale Environmental Compendium which covered almost all sectors of sustainable environmental issues of Bangladesh. Under the provision of this compendium a survey design has been developed for conducting a pilot Survey on Environment Score card (SESC) covering important themes and factors of environmental pollution with an objective to determine their impact on all living beings. The proposed SESC describes the pollution status and their aftermath impact through air, water and land pollution, toxic chemical releases etc. The possible collectable data and information may fulfill to meet the current data needs of the users to a great extent. Due to time constraint data from SESC could not be derived and incorporated in this compendium.
